Curtis Seal is a founding partner at GNSB, known for exceptional trial advocacy, research skills, creative legal strategies, and a deep expertise in complex litigation. Curtis has built a formidable reputation as a fierce advocate who combines persuasive courtroom presence with meticulous preparation to achieve outstanding results for his clients. His excellence in the legal field has been recognized by multiple selections as a Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Star, a prestigious honor reflecting his skill, professionalism, and dedication.

At GNSB, Curtis focuses on civil and complex litigation, insurance defense, labor and employment, white collar and criminal defense, and internal investigations for businesses.

Curtis is particularly adept in high-stakes civil and complex litigation. In insurance defense, he skillfully minimizes exposure for insurers through strategic risk assessment and aggressive defense tactics. Curtis also represents both employers and employees in labor and employment matters. He has an in-depth understanding of restrictive covenant matters in Alabama, and wrongful termination and discrimination claims. In white collar and criminal defense, he delivers vigorous defense strategies to protect reputations and freedom.

A graduate of the Honors College at THE University of Alabama, Curtis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, cum laude, where he developed a strong foundation in critical thinking and public policy that continues to inform his strategic approach to legal practice. During his time at Alabama, Curtis was selected as a member of the Jasons Senior Men’s Honorary, recognizing his leadership, character, scholarship, and service to the University community.

A hallmark of Curtis’ practice is his exceptional research and writing acumen, honed over the years as a practicing attorney and during his tenure as Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, the nation’s oldest law review dedicated to the art of trial advocacy. While in law school, Curtis was the recipient of the Scholar of Merit Award for Pre-Trial Practice and Procedure. Additionally, he served as a Judge Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow. A former member of the nationally ranked trial team at Cumberland School of Law, Curtis now proudly serves as a coach where he mentors students in honing their advocacy skills and fosters a passion for courtroom excellence.

Curtis was born in Montgomery, Alabama and grew up in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He is married to Katherine Harding Seal of Jacksonville, Florida, and together they have one daughter, one son, and two dogs. In his free time, Curtis is an avid follower of Crimson Tide athletics and is always trying to break 80 on the golf course—usually with disappointing results.
